Foreign Desk Reporter Job Reference No : EDIT/PRESS/0909/04

Reporting to the Deputy Foreign Editor, the successful incumbent will be working in Press supporting the newsroom in foreign news and current affairs

 

Responsibilities

·         Gather, report and analyze world news coverage for the newspaper, TODAY.

·         Source and generate story ideas and leads, and pitch stories to the editor, 

·         Keep abreast of global affairs and trends; current affairs and identify stories for follow-up

·         Any other assigned segments

 

Requirements

·         Diploma in Mass Communications

·         At least 4 years of Journalism experience and interest in foreign news and current affairs

·         Knowledge of business and sports will be an advantage

·         Excellent command of English and experience in writing news and analysis

·         Able to work independently and possesses good analytical skills, initiative and resourcefulness
