The Challenges Collaborating with other professionals, you will provide bio-psychosocial assessment and social diagnosis of the patients/families. You will formulate and implement comprehensive bio-psychosocial treatment plans utilising appropriate clinical social work interventions to help them cope with crisis, hospitalisation, treatment, chronic illness rehabilitation, reintegration to society, life transitions, grief and bereavement. Interventions may include individual counselling, group counselling, family counselling, patients’ support groups, caregivers’ support groups and psycho-educational workshops. You will also assist in the screening, social diagnosis and treatment of victims of abuse. You will facilitate referrals and access to social services and community resources including nursing homes, medical financial assistance (Medifund), legal aids, etc. You can also expect to contribute towards continuous quality improvement in the department, participate in multi-disciplinary ward rounds, and provide guidance to trainees and students. The Requirements
- Degree
- Registered with the relevant governing body of that profession, if applicable
- Team player, possess good interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient focus, genuine desire to make a difference
- Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical knowledge and reasoning, critical thinking, judgment and decision making in the provision of care
- Passionate about building a healthcare career, inspired to move ahead with challenges, possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, able to thrive in fast paced environment
