Clinical Support Assistant

Job Scope

• Performs customer-related tasks, and professionally handles enquiries on specimen collection.
• Checks and organizes phlebotomy supplies; monitor and manages utilization rate.
• Obtains blood for laboratory tests using the vacutainer system and other methods as appropriate. Follows strict protocol for the collection of blood samples, including patient identification and universal precautions.
• Performs specialised procedures, such as cannulation.
• Prepares patient, operates ECG machine and releases results to the doctor.
• Assists in documentation required for certification/accreditation, including quality procedures and specific work instructions.
• Assists in collecting statistics for management, such as phlebotomy and ECG workload, rejection data etc.
• Participates in Infection Control, Safety and Quality Improvement Projects.

Requirements

1. GCE 'O' or 'N' Level (preferably with credits in Science and Mathematics subjects), or Registered/Enrolled Nurse.

2. Organized, customer-oriented, team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.

3. Open to working shifts, extended hours, weekends/public holidays.

4. Passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
