  • "I love the raw energy that generates discussions and jokes in the classroom. When one of my first cohort of students visited me one year on Teacher’s Day, he thanked me for teaching his class, of which I replied, ‘Hey, I was enjoying myself then!’"

    Gabriel Chin
    St Andrew’s Junior College
  • "As varied as my career path had been, I was drawn to the thought of being able to communicate values to people and make a difference in their lives. Teaching, I felt, could help me fulfill these goals."

    Mr Veerapandiyan
    Temasek Junior College
  • "What keeps me going through the years are the children."

    Cardoza Sharon Ann

  • "I have learnt and grown in ways I otherwise could not have. The students have allowed me into the hallowed halls of their lives. They have trusted me with precious secrets and regaled me with funny tales. They have coloured my world just as I hope I have theirs – as a teacher, mentor and friend."

    Miss Lucy Oliver Fernandez
    Catholic High School
  • "Teaching enables you to learn how to manage people, how to handle students and situations in a cool-headed manner and how to liaise with various parties to see through a project and to meet objectives. Teaching brings out the best in me."

    Miss Nadiah Khamis

“Quality teachers and first-rate instruction are just some of the factors highlighted in the McKinsey Report which placed Singapore high on its list of the world’s best-performing school systems.”

The Singapore education system aims to help our students discover their talents, realise their potential and develop a passion for learning that lasts through life. International teachers have been part of our school scene for generations, actively enriching the teaching and learning environment and providing variety to our students’ perspectives.

Find out more about teaching in Singapore here.
The kids can be reserved but they are fun to teach. Once they are comfortable with you, you can have the same level of openness you had in your home country. It takes a little longer and a conscious effort on your part to draw them out; I think teachers considering Singapore would like to know that we take CCAs (Co-Curricular Activities) seriously. Back home, you take them in on a voluntary basis. But here, because they are part of your work, you get support from the school. If you are keen on a sport or another club, you can take it quite far.

Mr Stephen Glover – Senior Teacher of English Language & Literature in Singapore School

Allied Educators work with teachers to nurture and develop every child in school by raising the quality of interaction with every child. They will support the teachers in the application of innovative pedagogies to instruct and interact with each pupil. They will also facilitate discussion groups as well as engage the pupils in their project work.

Teachers will also involve Allied Educators in the delivery of enriching programmes and activities outside the classroom. The allied educators will also build rapport with the pupils to help them improve their self-confidence, self-esteem and sense of independence.

Join us now to become one of the key members of our school team!

  • “Counselling should not be seen as a punishment for students. In fact, it should be seen as a resource to help students deal with their difficulties.”

    Mr Steven Wu, AED(Counselling)
  • “We have to take care of their total well-being. Apart from learning academic subjects, they must also pick up life skills and develop positive attitudes in life.”

    Ms Nurazni Mohamed Kassim, AED(T&L)
  • “I became an Allied Educator as I enjoy working in the school environment. I had always wanted to make a difference in the lives of our youths.”

    Mr Jeyaram Kadivan, AED(LBS)
